3 Tips for Wheeling this Winter

Winter on the trails can be both amazing and challenging. The snow cover ground, the beauty of nature at rest and the sense of freedom away from the craziness of our lives back home can leave us wanting to push the limits. It is important however to be prepared at all cost during the winter because things can turn tough, quick. Three tips to ensure a fun, drama free free time in your local wintery wonder land are…

  1. Never go out alone. There’s a lot that can happen when you push your OHV to extremes and the last thing you need to do is get stuck, or need a trail fix in 4 feet of snow and alone. Grab some friends, hit the trails and have fun.
  2. STAY prepared. Make sure you have proper recovery gear with you. Make sure you have inspected your OHV before heading out. Make sure you have some basics like warm clothing and extra food and water with you, and never forget your first aid kit.
  3. Stay on designated trails. A snow cover trail is challenging enough, but when you leave that trial do you not only damage nature and the local wildlife, but venture off into some potentially very dangerous territory. There are plenty of great OHV use trails to have fun on, use them.

There is something special about winter wheeling, just keep it safe and responsible so when this time of year comes around there’s only great adventures to have.
